1) It is important [by Anonymous Citizen on December 18, 2007]
to get rid of this law. The only time it is even being enforced is when parents use it to limit parenting time with their ex or landlords use it to decide who to rent to.

It eliminates an archaic blue law, which is a good thing to do.

how they occupy their time then we don't need them full time. When was the last ticket or prosecution for this law? Get a grip, these guys come up with stupid laws because they are cooped up in their cubicles all day and lose touch with reality.

If that is what you really think then you obviously know very little about government and the effort public officials put in to try to get things done.

WOW!! An attractive woman Governor with brains and a man's man for a husband. God, I wish Michigan had one of those.

6) archaic law [by gwynbesner on May 15, 2007]
There was a fairly recent law suit in Michigan Baez v Hoffius in which a landlord wanted to discriminate against an unmarried couple by bringing this archaic law into the case. This was a waste of the court systems money as far as I was concerned. Yes, it has not been inforced in fifty years, but it still needs to be removed from the books. Good job, lawmakers.

7) These Folks [by Anonymous Citizen on May 15, 2007]
must be realllllly desperate to show that they are doing something. At least this is alot better than coming up with new and exciting ways to steal our money.

8) it IS a good way [by Anonymous Citizen on May 15, 2007]
to show that they are doing something. it is something in this state that is vitally important. that is, getting rid of old, antiquated, out-moded, and plain old STUPID laws.

the books are full of them.

one popular one that keeps showing up is the 'permit to purchase' law.

the other is the 'blue law' that requires the closing of bars at two a.m. and on sundays.

less government is a GOOD THING.

they will never tackle those other ones. The best government is least government.
